Star News INDONESIATuesday, (04 November 2025). KOTA KUPANG - The Military Court (Dilmil) III-15 Kupang resumed hearings in the alleged serial assault case that led to the death of Private Second Class (Prada) Lucky Chepril Saputra Namo.

The session brought several witnesses to testify as part of the ongoing pursuit of justice for the late soldier.

The courtroom was filled with family members of the victim, including Lucky’s father, Sergeant Major (Pelda) Christian Namo, and mother, Sepriana Paulina Mirpey, who attended to show their support.

Speaking emotionally after the session, Sepriana expressed her hope for a fair and honest judicial process.

“I only hope that all those responsible speak the truth and that justice is truly upheld,” she said tearfully.

However, public attention has turned to Pelda Christian’s previous remarks in several media outlets, where he questioned the transparency of the military judicial process and claimed he was not being informed of case developments.

Responding to the allegations, Brigadier General Hendro Cahyono, Commander of the 161/Wira Sakti Military Resort Command (Danrem 161/Wira Sakti), issued an official clarification on Wednesday (Nov 4).

He emphasized that all legal proceedings regarding the death of Prada Lucky were being carried out transparently and in full compliance with military law.

“The trial at the Military Court III-15 Kupang is ongoing with witness examinations. As the regional commander, I have been closely monitoring the proceedings to ensure that justice is enforced in accordance with regulations,” Brig. Gen. Hendro stated.

He also highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline and ethical conduct within the armed forces, urging the media to report responsibly and avoid creating misleading perceptions about the case.

“We continuously remind our soldiers to uphold discipline and the ethics of military life. The media is also expected to report objectively so as not to distort the public’s understanding of the legal process,” he added.

Brig. Gen. Hendro further confirmed that his office is currently investigating an alleged disciplinary violation by Pelda Christian Namo himself.

“We have received a report from the Rote Ndao District Military Commander that Pelda Christian may have breached military discipline. The matter is being reviewed and will be handled according to existing procedures,” he explained.

The commander also denied accusations that the victim’s family had been kept in the dark about the investigation.

“Mr. Christian has been summoned twice to the Korem to receive detailed explanations. Every stage — from the investigation to the handover of the case to the Military Prosecutor’s Office — has been conducted transparently,” he asserted.

Brig. Gen. Hendro was accompanied at the press briefing by senior officers of Korem 161/Wira Sakti, including the Chief of Staff, Intelligence Officer, Operations Officer, Territorial Officer, Military Police Commander, and Public Affairs Officer.

Through this public statement, Korem 161/Wira Sakti and Kodam IX/Udayana reaffirmed their commitment to overseeing the case to completion — underscoring the TNI’s responsibility to uphold justice and integrity within its ranks.
