Star News INDONESIA, Tuesday, (April 15, 2025). JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, concluded his official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the afternoon of Monday, April 14, 2025. In his statement to the media, the President shared that during his meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, the two leaders discussed a strong commitment to enhancing cooperation between Indonesia and Jordan across several sectors.
"We discussed enhancing cooperation in several areas, including education, science, technology, and the economy. We also import a lot of phosphate and potash for our fertilizers from here—some of the cheapest in the world," said the President.
In addition, President Prabowo emphasized that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza was also a primary focus of the discussions. According to the Head of State, Indonesia is actively advocating for a ceasefire and offering support to accelerate the peace process.
"We also talked about the Gaza issue, how we can help from a humanitarian perspective. We are pushing for an immediate ceasefire, and we will offer whatever assistance we can to speed up the peace process," he added.
President Prabowo’s visit to Amman marks an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Jordan, particularly in the areas of peacebuilding, humanitarian efforts, and cooperation within the Islamic world. This visit concludes President Prabowo’s tour of the Middle East and Türkiye, which is expected to have a positive impact on humanitarian efforts in Palestine.
“Alhamdulillah, we received a clear update. We hope that in the near future, there will be a breakthrough in a positive direction. Of course, we must take into account and defend the interests of all parties, especially the interests of the Palestinian people. I believe that is essential,” said the President.
