Kamis, Oktober 24, 2024

Star News INDONESIA, Thursday, (24 October 2024). PEAK GOME - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Puncak Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Wednesday, 23 October 2024, 323 Task Forces, especially the Gome Post led by First Lieutenant Galang, participated in community work with the community in building Honai, which is a Traditional Tribe House owned by Mr. Matius Turnib in Yenggernok Village, Gome District. The Honai holds significant cultural and social importance in the Papuan community, serving as a communal living space and a symbol of unity.

The 323 Task Forces conducted community work due to active Social Communication with the Yenggernok community. According to the 323 Task Forces Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, Social Communication is an implementation of the TNI's commitment to executing inclusive Social Communication with all stakeholders of the Papua region. The Soldiers implement the communication at the beginning of the meeting with Mr. Matius about the plan to build his Honai. Furthermore, the well-established Territorial Development between TNI Soldiers and the Community Figures of Yenggernok Village resulted in community work that ran safely and smoothly and involved many parties who could accelerate the construction process.

The portrait of unity between residents and TNI Soldiers in community work in building Honai is a powerful testament to the shared purpose and camaraderie. It illustrates that unity is still embedded in the culture and is a tradition of the Papuan people, starting from the process of preparing wood, preparing straw, installing the Honai frame and installing straw as a roof. Responding to the construction through community work, Mr. Matius enthusiastically said, "Thank you, Commander 323. The construction of Honai is going smoothly. God bless."

After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 323 Task Forces’ initiative to conduct community work to build Honai in Yenggernok Village. His words: "The 323 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to conduct inclusive social communication to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the importance of such initiatives and highlights the value and importance of the Task Forces' work. The community work not only contributes to the preservation of Papuan culture but also to the physical development of the region, providing a tangible example of the positive impact of such initiatives. It instills a sense of hope and optimism about their potential to impact the region's development positively. It makes the Task Forces and the community feel recognized and appreciated for their efforts.
