| Menkop Ferry Juliantono Invites PKS to Strengthen Government’s Cooperative Initiatives Across Villages. |

JAKARTA - Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Menkop) Ferry Juliantono has called on the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) to actively participate in advancing the government’s flagship cooperative program, Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (Red and White Village/Urban Cooperatives).
The call was made during the National Technical Guidance (Bimteknas) event themed “Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih”, organized by PKS. The event was attended by PKS President Al Muzzammil Yusuf, Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana, Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) M. Hidayat Nur Wahid, PKS Secretary-General Muhammad Kholid, as well as PKS officials and regional legislators from across Indonesia.
Minister Ferry emphasized that the success of the Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih initiative requires collaboration from various stakeholders, including political parties such as PKS. He noted that PKS has strong grassroots networks through its cadres and community partners in villages and urban areas, positioning the party to play a vital role in the cooperative movement.
“PKS can be part of the management, supervision, and operational support of these village and urban cooperatives so they can function effectively and benefit local communities,” Ferry said.
According to the Minister, the Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih program aims to empower local economies through cooperatives that promote inclusivity, independence, and national solidarity. By involving local actors and organizations, the government hopes to strengthen the cooperative ecosystem at the village level and improve community welfare.
The event highlighted the growing synergy between government agencies and political parties in boosting Indonesia’s cooperative-based economic development, particularly at the grassroots level.
